Brrrrr

It has been cold here in Sunny Land! Cold as in getting down to the 20's and 30's at night. I know the rest of the country is laughing at our complaints of cold, but we are not prepared to deal with it.

My apartment has not been retaining heat at all. I think the air has been drier, because not only has it been cold, it's been windy. As an experiment, T put the little humidifier in the living room and put the portable heater next to it. The living room heated up quick and stayed quite warm. Without the humidifier the living room would heat up a bit, but not as quickly and it didn't stay heated for as long.

Portable heater has been "sleeping" in my room for the past week. I have also taken in a new bedfellow, my electric blanket. I also have all the blankets I could find in the apartment piled up on my bed. I allowed T to keep two blankets, and his duvet. He seems quite happy with those.

Poor ferrets have been cooped up because I have been hunkering down in my bedroom in the evenings with the portable heater on to keep warm. It's just too much of an effort to heat the living room, and I never actually feel warm. With the portable on, I don't want the kiddies running around the room. I may let them out tonight as it should be a few degrees warmer.

We may also lose the oranges.
