Last night was awesome!
Thursday found me working a half day to spend the remainder of it with my sister and her hubby who are in town this week. We are big fans of Blue October and when we found out they would be preforming locally while Em and Joe were out here we got tickets. So what if it was on a work night, it's Blue October!

We are also fans of Hard Rock and since Hard Rock SD is right around the corner from House of Blues SD, we had to go. Dinner was a pulled pork burger for me, and hamburgers for Em and Joe. We hung around the nearby mall to kill 30 min before the show opened and then headed over to HoB. The opening band was Ours, not a bad band, but they sounded like Muse wannabes, and I like Muse.

Blue October played 6 or so songs from their new album releasing March 24th. All were good, one was about his daughter and there was some home videos playing in the background of her. Justin sang the entire song to the video's of his daughter with his back to the audience, it was very moving. Another one they sang had a very disturbing video playing along with it. (Sorry, until the CD comes out I don't know the song titles). I noticed most of the audience avoiding the video because of the graphic content of dead animals and decomposing bodies.

Despite having to stand throughout the entire concert (5+ hours) it was a spectacular night. I also got one of the guitar picks that was thrown out into the audience. My sister was after a drum stick and nearly had it when a chubby woman dove over a row of seats and grabbed it. Poor Em had sunburns on the backs of her legs and she was in pain from kneeling down to get the drumstick. I'll have to figure out how to get her a drumstick.

Hospital
We got a call that Grandma had been rushed to the hospital with leg pains. She had a leg clot and developed pneumonia while in the hospital. Poor Grandpa seemed lost while she was away. I snapped this when we took him in to visit her.
